Wrong and Unacceptable!

I refuse to take part in name-calling, and I can’t stand political spin and game playing. However, I will never shy away from calling out wrongdoing when I see it. For years, this current administration in Minnesota has either neglected or refused to use or put into place proper agency protocols to prevent the theft of billions of tax dollars in multiple state run programs. This would be equivalent to a bank leaving its vault wide open and allowing thieves to just walk in and help themselves. At the same time, this administration has either ignored or retaliated against whistleblowers (and lawmakers) who gave warning throughout the years.

I have yet to see any acceptance of responsibility or accountability for this lack of basic, common sense oversight from either our governor or agency leads. They are the people who’s responsibility it is to oversee these operations appropriately. All I’m hearing right now are excuses. Minnesota is such a “prosperous, generous, well-run state that it can’t help but attract thieves.” Rubbish!

Would you call a bank that leaves its vault wide open a “well-run” bank? I don’t think so, and no one with a lick of common sense would entrust their money to a bank like that. Problem is, Minnesotans don’t get the choice of which “bank” their tax dollars go to. I always taught my first grade students that mistakes are how we learn. But how can one learn from a mistake if they will not even admit that a mistake has been made?

This is just plain wrong and unacceptable. We have a problem in this state, and we need to fix it. There are solutions that will go along way toward fixing this problem. I want to be part of that fix.
